With a lifetime's expertise in typography, Maxitype is an award-winning foundry based in Switzerland. The foundry created Modelo as an entry for the Jan Tschichold Award, drawing on constructivist archetypes and the arguments Tschichold set out in his early manifesto, Die neue Typographie, in 1928.
The website exists to showcase the typeface in full and to situate it within the global study of type. An autoplaying digital manifesto delivers that message in the typeface itself; from there, users can edit, write and finally download the type.
